ASME Renews PCC's Pressure Vessel Certifications
This month, the American Society of Mechanical Engineer (ASME) renewed Precision Custom Components' (PCC's) certification to manufacture pressure vessels. As has been the care for several decades, PCC will continue to be certified under Section VIII of ASME's Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Divisions 1,2, and 3, to retain its U, U2, U3, and R stamps for another three years.
PCC is one of only three fabrication companies in the U.S. and one of 14 in the world to receive ASME Section VIII Division 3 certification to manufacturer large, ultra-high pressure vessels rated at pressures over 10,000 psi. Other certifications PCC holds include ASME Section III, Division 1 & 3 and MIL-Q-9858 with QRC82.
PCC's capabilities are supported by its narrow groove welding capability and 4 MeV X-ray facility that enables radiography of welded components up to 15 inches thick. Full in-house services provided include engineering, drafting, inspection, non-destructive testing, metallurgical testing, and welding development. PCC is one of few companies able to make customized fabricated pressure vessels, reactors, spent nuclear fuel casks, and heavy walled components requiring highly specialized large-scale machining, welding, and fabrication.
