ASC Supports Adhesion Society Outstanding Young Adhesion Scientist Award



NIST Researcher Dr. Edwin Chan Receives Recognition, $1,000 Grant from Council



Bethesda, MD--The Adhesive and Sealant Council (ASC) supported the 2013 Adhesion Society Outstanding Young Adhesion Scientist Award and presented a plaque and $1,000 grant to Edwin Chan, Ph.D, this year’s award recipient. Dr. Chan is a scientist within the National Institute of Standards and Technology Polymer Division in Gaithersburg, MD.



The Award was presented during the Adhesion Society’s Annual Meeting held March 2-6, 2013 at the Daytona Hilton and Resort in Daytona Beach, FL.



The Society’s Outstanding Young Adhesion Scientist Award recognizes emerging research talent that focuses on properties of adhesion.



Matt Croson, President of the Adhesive and Sealant Council, and Ken Shull, President of the Adhesion Society, congratulates Edwin Chang, NIST, for being awarded the 2013 Adhesion Society Young Scientist Award.  His citation reads,”for investigation of polymer gels and of the adhesive response of structured soft material surfaces.”
