”ASC’s Sustainability Forum will be an opportunity to learn, to share, and to collaborate,” adds Duren.  “We look forward to the dialogue and conversation that will certainly follow each of the thought provoking dialogues.

This ASC Sustainability Forum is the second event ASC has hosted on this topic.  In 2011, the Council held a Sustainability Summit designed to foster open dialogue and follow up actions to support the industry.  In 2012 and 2013, ASC began a process to help define sustainability within ASTM’s D14 and C24 committees as a direct outcome of the Summit.  This year’s Forum is developed to include more opportunities for dialogue and debate on where the industry feels sustainability is heading, and how the industry may need to change or adjust.

The ASC Sustainability Forum is the first face-to-face program that supports the Community Knowledge Integration objective of the newly adopted Council Long Range Plan.  The goal of the Forums are to spur dialogue and conversation, as opposed to sitting in the room listening to presentations.

“We anticipate the Sustainability Forum will be a lively discussion – call it a debate – on this important trend and how it impacts our sector,” notes Matthew E. Croson, President of ASC.  “ASC works to support all aspects of the adhesives and sealants supply chain, and this Forum is an important piece of the communication puzzle to make sure we are responding in a way that adds the strongest value possible.”

ASC invite all industry stakeholders (member or non-members) to attend the meeting, share their thoughts on how sustainability impacts the industry.  Information, including the full agenda and registration fees, can be found here.
