ARM International Streamlines Organization

Glen Ellyn, IL--The Association of Rotational Molders (ARM) International has announced a series of moves to streamline its organization to more effectively deliver value to its members, strengthen the industry, and continue to grow the association. In June the ARM International Board of Directors unanimously agreed to consolidate all international efforts through the central office in Chicago including the Latin American Division (LAD), Central and Eastern Europe Division (CEED) and South Asia Region Division (SARD) offices.

Association president Corey Claussen said, "The ARM International Leadership took the action as yet another step in meeting our mission to 'provide tools that will make good rotomolders and their suppliers great.' Over the last 18 months the association has worked diligently to reduce overhead and deliver better services to member companies. We have been making progress implementing our [strategic] plan and will be making even more progress over the next 18 months."

Internationally, the association continues to be committed to collaboration with other rotomolding organizations worldwide. ARM International is cross-promoting the ARMO Global Industry Convention and Exhibition in Belfast, Northern Ireland, and the association's Education Committee is partnering with ARMA to review and revise the ARM International Trouble Shooting Manual. ARM International leaders view this as just the beginning of a number of important industry partnerships that will ultimately deliver more information and opportunity to its members.

In addition to the organizational change, association leaders have also opted for a dues change in 2009 in which all ARM International member companies will pay dues based on the same schedule. Previously, member companies in some countries paid dues on a different schedule. The International Development Committee has also been renamed the International Relations Committee to better describe its role in partnering with rotational molding organizations worldwide to benefit the industry.

ARM International Executive Director Rick Church noted several other moves the association made to expand its member services: "After successful Regional Meetings in 2008 in Minneapolis, Minn., and Akron, Ohio, we plan to hold four more Regional Meetings in 2009." In addition, Church said, "2008 is a Rotoplas year, and ARM staff is working diligently to organize the best Rotoplas and Fall Meeting ever. We are also developing plans to host an Executive Forum meeting for managers/owners in the Spring of 2009."

The association has stepped up communications to members via monthly electronic issues of Rotolink and to the industry in general through regular editorial contributions to RotoWorld magazine. ARM International also will be developing Benchmarking Reports for molders and suppliers and presenting Safety Surveys and an Annual Safety Award for molders and suppliers.

The 2008 Annual Meeting, October 21-23 in Rosemont, Illinois, paired with the innovations on the trade show floor at Rotoplas 2008, promises to be an excellent opportunity to learn and network with suppliers, molders, consultants and educators from around the world. Scheduled industry presentations include conversion case studies, the Top Ten rotomolded products, new products and processes, and much more, making this a must-attend event for everyone in the rotomolding industry.

"ARM International's job is to help make its members the best they can be," said Claussen. "If 2007 was a turning point in our history, we've begun rewriting the book in 2008."

ARM International is a non-profit association of more than 400 members whose mission states: "We provide tools that will make good rotomolders and their suppliers great."
