APICS The Association for Operations Management Releases Customer-Focused Supply Chain Management Course for Workers who Interact with the Supply Chain

APICS releases new one-day course to help professionals understand their roles in the supply chain and how they can positively impact operational success through customer-focused supply chain management

Chicago, Ill. -APICS The Association for Operations Management, the global leader in supply chain and operations management certification, education, and membership, today released the Customer-Focused Supply Chain Management course. The APICS Customer-Focused Supply Chain Management course is designed to provide foundational information about supply chain management to staff who support the supply chain, but are not professionals in the field.

The one-day course was developed to help professionals understand how their job functions complement and enhance global supply chain management-an increasingly complex, varied, dynamic, and important function in successful businesses.

Recommended course participants include individuals involved in sales, marketing, finance, operations, and others who support the supply chain management function.
"Effective supply chain management is not the responsibility of an organization's supply chain management professionals alone," said APICS CEO Abe Eshkenazi, CSCP, CPA, CAE. "It is critical that individuals throughout the organization understand how their roles touch the supply chain and how effective, customer-focused supply chain management creates positive bottom-line results."

"Successful organizations understand the need for cross-functional support and involvement in supply chain management to achieve organizational benefits," said lead course developer Richard Godin, CFPIM, CIRM, CSCP. "Our aim with the APICS Customer-Focused Supply Chain Management course is to provide professionals who support the supply chain an understanding of how they impact their organizations' supply chains and how their job function can enhance it."

The APICS Customer-Focused Supply Chain Management course will be offered globally through local APICS affiliates, including APICS chapters, international associates, and authorized education providers. For more information on course offerings, visit www.apics.org/cfscm.
