ANSI Invites Members to Participate in Institute Committee on Education

The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) has issued a call for all interested members to join the Institute's Committee on Education (CoE). The CoE oversees all Institute initiatives related to standards and conformity assessment education and outreach.

Members of the CoE are currently developing a long-term strategy and subsequent action steps for university faculty outreach to promote the integration of standards and conformity assessment into engineering and technology, business, public policy, and law school curricula. This initiative strives to educate the next generation of leaders on the strategic impact of standards and conformity assessment.

Additionally, alongside its mission to fulfill the objectives of the United States Standards Strategy (USSS) and respond to related issues that may be delegated by the ANSI Board of Directors, Executive Committee, or National Policy Committee, the CoE is working to identify target audiences and learning objectives for educational outreach and develop and publish standardization case studies crossing a variety of disciplines, where standardization - either the concept or actual practice - helped in the resolution of real-world problems.

ANSI members who have detailed personal knowledge or a strong interest and participation in education are invited to join the CoE. Those with broad knowledge of education-related issues including strategic planning, promotion, and business development, as well as experience in outreach, support, and education for the national and international public, standards and conformity assessment professionals, and faculty, are strongly encouraged to actively participate.

The Committee generally meets two times per year. For more information on joining the CoE, contact Lisa Rajchel, CoE secretary (lrajchel@ansi.org; 212.642.4932).
