Making formal commitment to cooperation in standardization activities, ANSI and the Jordan Standards and Metrology Organization have signed Memorandum of Understanding. JSMO belongs to the International Organization for Standardization and is a member of the International Electrotechnical Commission through IEC National Committee of Jordan. MoU reflects essential connection between standards, conformance, and trade, and seeks to establish future areas of cooperation between the organizations.

Making a formal commitment to cooperation in standardization activities, the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and the Jordan Standards and Metrology Organization (JSMO) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in support of greater U.S.-Jordanian cooperation. ANSI president and CEO S. Joe Bhatia signed the MoU on behalf of ANSI, the coordinator of the U.S. voluntary standardization system, while Dr. Haydar Al-Zaben, JSMO’s director General, signed on behalf of JSMO. The signing took place during the 35th Annual ISO General Assembly (GA), held September 17-21, 2012 in San Diego.
JSMO belongs to the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and is a member of the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) through the IEC National Committee of Jordan. The MoU reflects the essential connection between standards, conformance and trade, and seeks to establish future areas of cooperation between the two organizations. According to the Census.gov website, U.S. exports to Jordan have been on the rise in recent years, reaching $1.4 billion in 2011, an increase of 123.5% since 2006.
