ANSI Workshop: Generating U.S. Input on the ISO Strategic Plan 2011-2015 to be Held June 25-26 in Washington, DC

The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) has announced that it will hold a workshop June 25-26, 2009, in Washington, DC, to formulate the U.S. contribution to the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) Strategic Plan for 2011-2015.
ISO is seeking input from its members on its upcoming Strategic Plan, and as the U.S. national member body to ISO, ANSI invites all interested U.S. stakeholders to review the related consultation document from ISO and submit feedback through an online survey conducted by the Institute. Survey responses will be compiled and reviewed during the June workshop.

The current ISO Strategic Plan was approved in 2004 in response to membership growth and expanded outreach to new categories of stakeholders. The ISO Strategic Plan 2005-2010 - Standards for a sustainable world proposed a global vision for ISO, seven key objectives with expected results and actions for their achievement, and a description of ISO's added value. To examine the next five years, ISO has developed the document Consultation for the ISO Strategic Plan 2011-2015, which has been made available for review and comment by national member bodies.

To submit input on the Consultation for the ISO Strategic Plan 2011-2015, click here.

While a number of issues and related specific questions are featured in the consultation document, respondents should feel free to comment on any aspect of ISO and its standards development. Please coordinate internally to ensure that one response is received per organization. Comments will be accepted until June 5, 2009.

The June 25-26 workshop will be held at the Washington Marriott at Metro Center in Washington, DC. It is open to all interested stakeholders, and advance registration is required.
