ANADIGICS' New RF Switch Offers High Power Rating and Exceptional Performance for Automotive Telematic Applications

WARREN, N.J., Nov. 14 / -- ANADIGICS, Inc. (NASDAQ:ANAD), a leading supplier of wireless and broadband solutions, today announced a new addition to its family of RF switches. The AWS5532 RF switch provides an impressive 10 W power rating, which is ideal for applications such as automotive telematics, as well as GSM, CDMA, and WLAN mobile platforms.

"The adoption of telematics in the automotive industry offers users many new services, including remote diagnostics, on-demand navigation, and fleet tracking," said Dr. Ali Khatibzadeh, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Wireless Products at ANADIGICS. "The AWS5532 RF antenna switch offers industry-leading performance leveraging ANADIGICS' world-class pHEMT technology and design expertise."

Configured as a Single Pole Double Throw (SPDT) switch, the AWS5532 provides excellent electrical performance to maintain signal integrity at frequencies up to 2.5 GHz. Typical performance characteristics at 2 GHz are a low insertion loss of 0.4 dB to minimize power loss, a return loss of 20 dB to prevent distortion, and an isolation of 28 dB to minimize port-to-port crosstalk. The AWS5532 offers a best-in-class P0.1 dB typical compression of +40.5 dBm.

The new RF switch uses ANADIGICS' pHEMT process to provide exceptional ruggedness. The compact 3 mm by 3 mm by 1 mm, 12-pin S26 MLF package is designed for applications requiring European Union's Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) components.

The AWS5532 is priced at $2.00 in quantities of 10,000 units. Samples are available now. For additional information, contact ANADIGICS by phone (908) 668-5000 or FAX (908) 668-5132 or visit the Company's Web site at http://www.anadigics.com/ .
