AMT - The Association For Manufacturing Technology Elects New Board of Directors and Officers



AMT elected its 2008-2009 officers and directors today at its 2008 Annual Meeting in Austin, Texas.

The Board of Directors of the association, which represents more than 400 American manufacturers of machine tools, manufacturing machinery and related products, elected Ronald F. Schildge, President, Eitel Presses, Inc., Orwigsburg, Pa., as Chairman. He replaces Doug Currie, President & CEO, Erie Press Systems, Erie, Pa. Mr. Currie will now serve the association as an Ex-Officio member of its Board of Directors.

The Board re-elected Daniel D. Janka, President, MAG Industrial Automation Systems, Americas Group, Hebron, Ky., to serve as First Vice Chairman.

Eugene R. Haffely, Jr., Chief Operating Officer, Assembly & Test Worldwide, Inc., Dayton, Ohio, will serve the association as Second Vice Chairman and Treasurer during the coming year.

Kim W. Beck, President & CEO, Automatic Feed Co., Napoleon, Ohio, will continue to serve as Secretary.

Newly elected to three-year terms as members of the association's Board of Directors are Charles N. Clark, Sr., Division President, Dukane Corporation, St. Charles, Ill.; Krestine Corbin, Chairman, President & CEO, Sierra Machinery, Inc., Sparks, Nev.; Timothy B. Dining, President & CEO, Greenerd Press and Machine Company, Inc., Nashua, N.H.; and Richard A. Shore, Sr., President and Owner, Automation & Modular Components, Inc., Davisburg, Mich. Re-elected to a three-year term as a member of the Board of Directors are Kim W. Beck, President & CEO, Automatic Feed Co., Napoleon, Ohio, and Daniel D. Janka, President, MAG Industrial Automation Systems, Americas Group, Hebron, Ky. Previously, Timothy B. Dining, President & CEO, Greenerd Press and Machine Company, Inc., Nashua, N.H., was appointed to fill an unexpired three-month term on the Board of Directors.

Ronald F. Schildge is President of Eitel Presses, Inc., of Orwigsburg, Pa., and its parent company, Transmares Corp., Annandale, N.J., a holding company whose affiliated companies include Precision Roll Grinders, Inc. with service facilities located in Allentown, Pa., Carrollton, Ga., Lewisport, Ky. and Texarkana, Ark. He has a senior management role in several other businesses and affiliates involved in the automotive aftermarket and real estate industries. Mr. Schildge is a graduate of Cornell University. He served on the AMT Economics & Statistics Committee from 1989 to 1996 and was Chairman from 1993 to 1996. He also was a member of the Government Relations Committee from 1996 to 1999, and the Global Marketing, Sales & Service Committee from 1999 to 2003, serving as Chairman from 2001 to 2003.

Daniel D. Janka is President, MAG Industrial Automation Systems, Americas Group, Hebron, Ky. Prior to that, he was President, Cincinnati Technologies, MAG Industrial Automation Systems, Hebron, Ky. He formerly served as Executive Vice President of Cincinnati Lamb, a company comprised of the merged Cincinnati Machine and Lamb Technicon operations. He joined Cincinnati Milacron's Machine Tool Group in 1984. Mr. Janka is a member of AMT's Government Relations Committee. He holds a B.A. in industrial engineering & technology from Southern Illinois University. He also attended the American Management Association's (AMA) Curriculum for Presidents and the University of Cincinnati's Advanced Management Program.

Eugene R. Haffely, Jr., is Chief Operating Officer, Assembly & Test Worldwide, Dayton, Ohio. He previously served as Group President - Assembly Systems Group of Assembly & Test Worldwide. Mr. Haffely was a co-founder of Advanced Assembly Automation (AAA) (founded in 1984) and served as Vice President of Operations until 1996. Mr. Haffely then served as President of Hansford Manufacturing, a Division of DT Industries and as the Corporate Vice President of Operations for DT Industries from 1997 through 1999 when he returned to AAA as President. Mr. Haffely graduated Cum Laude from the University of Wisconsin with a B.S. in computer and electrical engineering.

Kim W. Beck is President & CEO of Automatic Feed Co., Napoleon, Ohio. He joined Automatic Feed as a salesman in 1975 and became President in 1982. A graduate of Hillsdale College, he is involved with many civic associations. He has been an active member of AMT and has served on several committees of the association. Mr. Beck earlier served on the AMT Board of Directors from 1993 to 2003, and was Chairman of the Board in 2000-2001.

Charles N. Clark, Sr., is President of the Intelligent Assembly Systems (IAS) Division of Dukane Corporation, St. Charles, Ill., a position he has held since 2002. He previously served in executive management positions with White Systems and Sciaky Bros. Mr. Clark began his career at Cincinnati Milacron. He is a graduate of Georgia Tech with a B.S. in industrial and systems engineering. He also holds a M.B.A. from Xavier University.

Krestine Corbin is the Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Sierra Machinery, Inc., Sparks, Nev. She has served in those positions since 1984. She has been a director of the company since 1980. Sierra Machinery is an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) of specialized patented heavy machinery and tooling used in the production of hydraulic cylinders with customers worldwide. Ms. Corbin has been active in the Pacific Basin countries, European Community and South America since 1982. She currently sits on the Pacific Basin Economic Council Board (PBEC), which is a Hong Kong-based association of senior business leaders from throughout the Pacific Basin Region and beyond, dedicated to expanding trade and investment through fostering open markets.

Timothy B. Dining is the President & CEO of Greenerd Press & Machine Company, Inc., Nashua, N.H., a position he has held since 2000. Prior to joining the 125-year old manufacturer of hydraulic presses, he was Vice President, Operations, for Labsphere, Inc., in North Sutton, N.H. Before that, he served as Vice President, Operations, for WPI Power Systems and WPI Electronics. Mr. Dining is a Dartmouth College graduate, with a B.S. in psychology. He also holds an M.B.A. from The Whittemore School of Business and Economics at the University of New Hampshire. Mr. Dining is a founding member of AMT's Forming & Fabricating Committee and served as its chairman in 2003-2004.

Richard A. Shore, Sr., is President and Owner of Automation and Modular Components, Inc., Davisburg, Mich. He has held those positions since the company was formed in 1988. During his 41-year career in manufacturing, Mr. Shore has worked in engineering, applications and sales for both the metal removal and automated assembly equipment industries. Before starting Automation and Modular Components, he worked for Michigan Special Machinery, Drill Unit, The Cross Company, The Buhr Company, Bendix Corporation and Fraser Automation. Mr. Shore previously served on the AMT Government Relations Committee.
