New Kensington, PA -- ALKAB Contract Manufacturing, Inc., (ACMI), today announced the purchase of a new Kuraki KBT-11EZ 5-axis CNC Horizontal Boring and Milling Machine from Kuraki America Corporation and DSM Machinery. This large-capacity machine tool acquisition will compliment ACMI's existing larger-component machining capabilities and will address ACMI's need for additional larger-component machining throughput to service existing and future demand. The KBT-11EZ incorporates Kuraki's latest horizontal boring and milling machine technology. In addition to being capable of closer machining accuracies, this machine tool is three times faster than its predecessor with increased spindle speeds, increased rapid travel speeds and increased cutting feed rates. The Kuraki KBT-11EZ, with travels of 98.42" X-axis and 70.86" Y-axis, is one of the most technologically advanced and robust horizontal boring and milling machines available. ACMI is pleased to be the first to bring this technology and capability to Southwestern Pennsylvania. The Kuraki KBT-11EZ 5-axis CNC Horizontal Boring and Milling Machine was put in service on April 15, 2010. The machine tool is laser aligned and calibrated and its accuracies are traceable to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). ALKAB Contract Manufacturing, Inc.
