AIA to release 2007 revisions to Contract Documents.

November 2, 2007 - Developed collaboratively with input of owners, contractors, and their attorneys, AIA Contract Documents define contractual relationships in design and construction projects and are updated every 10 years to reflect legal changes, as well as industry trends and practices. AIA will also introduce Integrated Project Delivery: A Guide, which will provide detailed analysis of new delivery models and offer best practices for working within collaborative model.

AIA to introduce Integrated Project Delivery Guide to establish best practices for working within an Integrated Delivery Model

For Immediate Release Washington, D.C., September 27, 2007 -

What: The American Institute of Architects (AIA) will release the 2007 update to AIA Contract Documents, widely-recognized as the industry standard for defining contractual relationships in design and construction projects. Developed collaboratively with the input of owners, contractors and their attorneys, AIA Contract Documents are updated every ten years to reflect legal changes, as well as industry trends and practices.

To complement the release of the 2007 Update to AIA Contract Documents, the AIA also will introduce "Integrated Project Delivery: A Guide" (IPD Guide). Developed jointly with the AIA California Council, The IPD Guide will help define the world of Integrated Project Delivery as the design and construction industry continues to move toward a collaborative, team approach. It will provide detailed analysis of new delivery models and offer best practices for working within the collaborative model, openly sharing information, executing value-based decision making and utilizing the full technological capabilities of the team.

When: November 5, 2007 Both the 2007 update to the AIA Contract Documents and the IPD Guide will be available on November 5th.
