AIA, A|D|S Release New Standards for Electronic Trade Agreements

Arlington, Va. - The Aerospace Industries Association and A|D|S, the trade organisation advancing UK's AeroSpace, Defence and Security Industries, today announced new global standards for trading partner and electronic collaboration agreements between prime contractors and suppliers.

"These agreements provide global parties with a common set of rules under which they can agree to exchange data or collaborate electronically," said AIA President and CEO Marion Blakey. "Having one set of global standards for these agreements gives much-needed guidance to companies up and down the supply chain."

The documents have been developed for use across any industrial supply base. Most suppliers deal with an array of trading and collaboration agreements on policy, infrastructure and standards that are similar in content but vary widely in legal construction.

"Standardizing these agreements will minimize delays and legal costs associated with the negotiation and agreement process," A|D|S Chairman Ian Godden added.

Both agreements are available for download on AIA's website at www.aia-aerospace.org/library/ebusiness/ebusiness.cfm or from A|D|S at www.adsgroup.org.uk.
