Every year, American Filtration and Separations (AFS) Society elects 2nd Vice Chair and 6 members of Board of Directors. Elected 2nd Vice Chair will become AFS 2nd Vice Chair for 2014, 1st Vice Chair for 2015, and AFS Chair in 2016. For those elected to Board of Directors, term of service is 2 years and begins at AFS Fall 2013 Board of Directors Meeting or November 30, 2013. Online nomination form is available, and deadline is March 1, 2013.

POSITIONS TO BE FILLED

Every year the AFS Society elects a 2ndVice Chair and six members of the Board of Directors.  The elected 2ndVice Chair will become the AFS 2ndVice Chair for 2014, 1st Vice Chair for 2015 and the AFS Chair in 2016.  For elected members of the Board of Directors, the term of service will begin at the AFS Fall 2013 Board of Directors Meeting or November 30, 2013, which ever is sooner, for a term of two years.



PROTOCOL AND SCHEDULE

This year we are using an online nomination form. Upon completion of the form, the nominee, nominator and seconder will be sent verification forms for them to sign. Please give considerable thought in for your nomination—seek out the underachiever member—use your soft skills to draw them into the Society. Move quickly as we are under a very tight deadline requiring quick turnaround.

March 1, 2013, Nominations are due

March 15, 2013, Balloting will begin

May 2, 2013, Ballots must be received in the Administrative Office by midnight!

May 7, 2013, Results announced at the Board of Directors Meeting in Minneapolis, MN.



ELIGIBILITY

The only requirement for nomination is the nominee must be a current 2013 member of the American Filtration & Separations Society.  (A current member is defined as having paid dues for 2013.)  Previous experience in a local AFS chapter, service on the Board of Directors, activities related to AFS Conferences or serving on an AFS Committee is helpful.



COMMITMENT IS NECESSARY

All positions require assuming responsibilities.  Therefore, each candidate is expected to be professionally organized, so as to have availability to attend meetings of the Society and the Board of Directors, to serve on committees, attend local chapter meetings, respond to all communications without delay, enthusiastically endorse all of the activities of the society, and to recruit Corporate Sponsors and Individual members.
