AEM Product Support Seminar Provides Solutions for Delivering Superior Customer Service

New optional community-service segment helps New Orleans' rebuild efforts

"Teaming Up to Serve" is the theme of the 2008 product support seminar offered by the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM). The event will be held October 19-22, 2008 at the Astor Crowne Plaza in New Orleans, Louisiana.

This annual AEM seminar is designed for off-road equipment manufacturing industry professionals with parts, service and training responsibilities. Sessions feature speakers from business, industry and consumer sectors as well as case studies, panel discussions and networking exchanges.

New for the 2008 event is an optional community service project immediately following the seminar and based on the host city location - attendees can volunteer for a one-to-four-day stint helping rebuild homes in the St. Bernard Parish area devastated by Hurricane Katrina.

"This AEM seminar has long had the nickname of the 'great exchange' because of its exchange of ideas and benchmarking. The seminar planning committee decided attendees could not only 'get' information and insights but also 'give back' with what we're calling the 'great assist," noted AEM's Heide Kraus.

Two special seminar guests will relay life-altering stories that illustrate the philosophy of teamwork, training and determination. Keni Thomas was a member of the Army Ranger company whose ill-fated 1993 mission to Somalia was the subject of the book and movie "Blackhawk Down." Eric Bailey grew up with a severe bone disease and inadequate medical care in the gang-infested south central Los Angeles area, but turned his love of basketball into playing professionally for Australia's National Basketball League.

Other topics at the 2008 AEM product support seminar include:

o Bio fuels' opportunities and challenges
