Press release date: May 19, 2010

Automation Engineering Incorporated (AEi), a global supplier of high precision automation systems, has won a SBANE 2010 New England Innovation Award for its CMAT (Camera Module Align, Assembly, and Test) flexible automation platform. CMAT supports customers' alignment, testing and assembly of digital camera modules and sensors in portable devices such as mobile phones and PDAs, automotive safety systems, and industrial products such as borescopes and endoscopes. Leading manufacturers use CMAT as a common platform for both new product development and full-scale production deployment.

According to AEi Chief Operating Officer Justin Roe, "Being selected from a long list of creative and innovative companies is very rewarding. We believe that this award recognizes our years of developing high precision flexible automation systems. The CMAT platform enables leading OEMs to quickly respond to shifting market economics and take advantage of rapidly changing opportunities for products featuring digital camera modules," concluded Roe.

The SBANE New England Innovation Awards recognize those companies that have transformed their innovative ideas into a product or service that delivers proven value to customers. Former nominees come from varying fields such as technology, manufacturing, service (profit and non-profit), and retail/distribution.
