AEC 2009-2010 Buyers' Guide Goes Digital

The Aluminum Extruders Council (AEC) has, for the first time, released one of its most popular publications as an online flipbook. The 2009-2010 Buyers' Guide features all of the valuable content readers have come to expect, along with additional elements that will enhance the reading and reference experience of its readers. The digital publication will include links to AEC member company websites, facilitate direct inquiries through e-mail links, and full directory entries for all Extruder, Supplier, and Producer Members, along with Capabilities Charts for AEC member extrusion plants, making the Buyers' Guide the one comprehensive directory for the Aluminum Extruders Council. The Buyers' Guide also includes valuable content that provides readers with interesting facts about aluminum and aluminum extrusions, and articles highlighting some of the best and latest applications for aluminum extrusions.

In 2008, the AEC website enjoyed an audience of more than 11,000 visitors per month, on average, and nearly 134,000 visitors for the year perusing the site for an average length of more than seven minutes per session. The digital edition of the Buyers' Guide will be seen by more designers, specifiers, and purchasers of aluminum profiles than ever before. A unique page on the AEC website, www.aecguide.org, will link to the online 2009 Buyers' Guide, as will other strategically placed locations on the AEC website. "This new digital version of the Buyers' Guide will make the Council's most popular publication more accessible to the folks we want to reach," explained AEC President Rand Baldwin. "Getting the word out about the advantages of aluminum extrusion and AEC members has always been the focus of the Buyers' Guide and this new digital edition provides an exciting and valuable new tool to accomplish that goal." The digital edition of the 2009-2010 Buyers' Guide allows readers to print or save individual pages, send to a friend, add their own notes, direct link pages within the guide on websites such as Google Bookmarks, LinkedIn, Digg, Twitter, and others. The Buyers' Guide can also be downloaded to readers' computer desktops for easy reference.

The Buyers' Guide is published to support the work of product designers, architects, engineers, students, and others as a valuable reference and informational tool. The Buyers' Guide webpage at www.AECguide.org also leads to a variety of resources that present technical information on such topics as aluminum extrusion alloys, material comparison, and an overview of the extrusion process, as well as details on applications for aluminum extrusion, including the popular Aluminum Extrusion Showcase e magazine series.

The Aluminum Extruders Council (AEC), established in 1950, is an international association dedicated to helping manufacturers, engineers, architects, and others to discover why aluminum extrusion is the better material process for better products. Specialized conferences, seminars, workshops, and meetings throughout the year provide an outlet where AEC members can confront and solve today's challenges. More than 150 member companies represent primary aluminum producers and other industry suppliers in addition to aluminum extruders operating hundreds of extrusion presses in hundreds of plants worldwide; these are the world's leading manufacturers of extruded aluminum profiles-The Shapemakers.
