ADTRAN Appoints New General Managers; Wilson And Schansman To Lead Company's Operating Divisions


HUNTSVILLE, Ala.-Aug. 4, 2006--ADTRAN(R), Inc. (NASDAQ: ADTN), a leading global provider of networking and communications equipment, today announced the appointment of Jay Wilson as senior vice president and general manager of the company's Carrier Networks Division and Rick Schansman as senior vice president and general manager of the company's Enterprise Networks Division. These positions were previously held by Tom Stanton and Danny Windham who were appointed respectively as CEO and President/COO of the company in September of last year.

As senior vice president and general manager of the Carrier Networks Division, Wilson will be responsible for all carrier engineering, marketing, sales and support functions. Wilson joined ADTRAN in 1998. He has served in a number of roles for the Carrier Networks Division and most recently served as vice president of product marketing. He has played a key role in the development and introduction of several of ADTRAN's product lines that are widely deployed by telecommunications carriers. Prior to joining ADTRAN, Wilson served in a number of management roles for Wyle Laboratories. While there, his responsibilities included sales, marketing and engineering management for Wyle's testing and engineering services to the telecommunications, aerospace/defense and nuclear equipment qualification industries. Wilson holds a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Vanderbilt University.

As senior vice president and general manager of the Enterprise Networks Division, Schansman will be responsible for all enterprise engineering, marketing, sales and support functions. Schansman joined ADTRAN in 1996. He has served in a number of positions with the company for both the Enterprise and Carrier Divisions and most recently served as vice president of engineering for systems products for the Carrier Networks Division. During his tenure, he has been responsible for the development of several ADTRAN product lines used by both enterprise and carrier customers. Prior to joining ADTRAN, Schansman held positions with SCI Systems, General Digital Industries and Radiometrics. He holds a BS degree in Engineering from the University of Alabama in Huntsville.
