ABB's North American Drives Service Hub Opens in New Berlin, Wisconsin


(One of nine Hubs in ABB's global network of support)

NEW BERLIN, WI, August 22, 2008 . . . The North American Drives Service hub for ABB, located on 5000 S. Emmer Drive here, officially opened today, as the support location for ABB drives throughout the U.S. and Canada. The event was marked and celebrated with a ribbon cutting ceremony, followed by a luncheon for guests and employees. The location is one of nine (9) global ABB hubs, and will provide support for Low Voltage and Medium Voltage products to ABB service organizations, service partners, and end users in both the U.S. and Canada.

"We are very honored to have this hub distinguished as one of the global centers," says Carolina Schwegler, the Director of Service Operations for Drives. "Our goal is to be the trendsetter for best practices, and develop and extend exceptional service into a truly world-class operation." With maximum customer uptime as the goal, this focused Service hub "is designed to make ABB's NA drives offer totally complete - from cradle to grave," she noted.

Service around the Globe

The Drives Services PRU (Product Responsible Unit) for ABB has set up Service Hubs in all major country markets, including Singapore, India, China, Slovakia and South Africa. These hubs provide a specialized customer call center, technical support, service training, spare parts inventory, highly skilled field-service engineers, a drive service and repair shop, and service sales support for their respective regions.

Service Hubs pay special attention to improving the competence of ABB's service organizations and service partners, to ensure that customers get professional services from ABB, no matter where end users are located, and where the products were sold originally.
