ABB St. Louis Transformer Plant to Re-open on Thursday

ABB will re-open its St. Louis facility on Thursday, January 14, 2010, one week after the tragic shooting events that took place on January 7.

The plant is currently functionally ready to resume operations, however it will remain closed until Thursday in order to give employees the opportunity to attend memorial services for our fallen colleagues.

ABB's philanthropic arm, ABB Foundation, has set up a fund to benefit families of the victims of Thursday's tragic events in St. Louis. Donations can be made payable to ABB Foundation and sent to the following address:

Checks should indicate they are for "ABB St. Louis Victims Fund." Donations made by ABB employees in the United States will be matched by ABB Foundation up to $100,000, but anyone is welcome to contribute to the fund.

Note: ABB has been informed that the victims' families are being subject to a very high number of media inquiries. Out of respect for the families and the victims themselves, we would like to request that media refrain from attempting to contact these individuals directly.
