ABB Announces New Generation of Controller and Indicator Instruments

Elevates process monitoring and control to a higher level

Houston, TX - ABB introduces its latest generation of process controller and indicator instrumentation. Called ControlMaster, the new line-up includes four models that are highly intuitive and powerful, as well as easy to operate. A comprehensive portfolio of capabilities makes these units suitable for a wide spectrum of industries. Flexible I/O capabilities greatly simplify model selection. Each ControlMaster model can be scaled to suit basic to advanced application requirements by the addition of plug-and-play function keys.

ControlMaster's full-color thin-film-transistor (TFT) liquid crystal display clearly shows process information and provides unsurpassed ease of use. Menus and operator prompts display in full text. Formats include dual-loop displays and historical trending.

A sampling of the controllers' functionality includes:

o dead-time compensation

o adaptive, predictive, and dual-loop control

o cascade, feedforward and ratio control

o math and logic

o totalization

o delay timers

o problem-solving diagnostics

The new units offer flexible communications: Ethernet, Profibus and Modbus protocols. Enclosures provide IP66 and NEMA4X environmental protection.
