The AAMA has released AAMA 303-07, a revamped 15-page document first published in 2000 titled Rigid Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) Exterior Profiles. According to John Lewis, AAMA Technical Director, updates include a new table summarizing requirements of the standard and the addition of sections covering terminology and units of measure. Performance requirements from AAMA 109 were added for non-laminated based profiles and organically coated exterior vinyl profiles.

AAMA Updates Document Addressing Vinyl Profiles



SCHAUMBURG, IL - AAMA 303-07, a technical specification covering vinyl profiles, has been released by the American Architectural Manufacturers Association (AAMA). According to John Lewis, AAMA Technical Director, the revamped 15-page document, first published in 2000 and titled Voluntary Specification for Rigid Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) Exterior Profiles, includes several updates.

"In addition to various editorial changes, the most significant update was the creation of a new table summarizing requirements of the standard. Other changes include the addition of sections covering terminology and units of measure, and the deletion of the requirement of testing to ASTM E 1753," according to Lewis.

Performance requirements from AAMA 109 were added for non-laminated based profiles and organically coated exterior vinyl profiles. Changes were also made to the section on "Referenced Documents," as well as more in-depth instructions for test sample preparation.

The Voluntary Specification for Rigid Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) Exterior Profiles is available through download, CD or paper copy at a cost of $16.00 for non-members and $8.00 for members.
