The AAMA has released AAMA 906-07, Voluntary Specification for Sliding Glass Door Roller Assemblies. AAMA Updates Document Addressing Door Hardware
SCHAUMBURG, IL - AAMA 906-07, a technical specification covering door hardware, has been released by the American Architectural Manufacturers Association (AAMA). According to John Lewis, AAMA Technical Director, the revamped 6-page document, first published in 1996 and titled Voluntary Specification for Sliding Glass Door Roller Assemblies, includes several updates.
"In addition to various editorial changes, the most significant change was the addition of Section 8.2 covering test specimens. This new section provides clarification as to grouping of similar roller assemblies for the purposes of testing," according to Lewis. Per the new section, "Each different design, style, series or series modification resulting from use of different materials, material widths, thickness, roller diameter or assembly method, etc., shall be tested. Identical products with shims added are excluded from duplicate testing."
The Voluntary Specification for Sliding Glass Door Roller Assemblies is available through download, CD or paper copy at a cost of $6.00 for non-members and $3.00 for members.
