Taipei, Taiwan

Press release date: December 19, 2008

Taipei Taiwan (December 19, 2008) - AAEON, a premier Industrial PC manufacturer, is pleased to announce the debut of a series of Intel® Atom(TM) processor-based products available in the most popular embedded form factors such as: Mini-ITX, EPIC, SubCompact 3.5" (ECX), XTX and COM CPU modules, as well as PC/104.

AAEON provides a full range of products adopting the latest Intel® processor and chipset technologies. The debut of the Intel® Atom(TM) processor ushers in a new era of mobile computing with AAEON leading the way into vertical market segments previously dominated by RISC technology. AAEON is releasing eight new products for the embedded market: COM-U15, NanoCOM-U15, COM-945GSE, XTX-945GSE, PFM-945C, GENE-9455, EPIC-9457, and EMB-9459T. These products all adopt Intel® Atom(TM) processors and have a wide application range, including POS, Kiosk, Digital Signage, Mobile Internet Devices, etc.

This new series of AAEON products utilizes both the Intel® Atom(TM) processor Z530 series and Intel® Atom(TM) processor N270-based platforms. The Intel® Atom(TM) processor Z530 series with the Intel® System Controller Hub US15W platform is ideal for embedded developers wanting low power Intel® architecture and needing graphics requirements to drive small screens typically found in SFF applications. The Intel® Atom(TM) processor N270 with the Mobile Intel® 945GSE Express chipset platform is for low power embedded applications needing flexible I/O capabilities and sophisticated graphics capabilities for larger displays.

"To meet increasing market demands, AAEON has embraced the Intel® Atom(TM) processor in developing low power, cost effective embedded boards and system level products. We believe that this series of products will get a great reaction from the market," said Wayne Chen, the Vice President of AAEON's Embedded Computing Division. "Adopting Intel's cutting-edge technology demonstrates the capability of AAEON's Research & Development team. Moreover, the innovative nature of the Intel® Atom(TM) processor will be an excellent tool for cultivating the mobile market for the embedded industry." Mr. Chen added.

"Intel® Atom(TM) processor-based platforms deliver low power and performance-per-watt advantages, and enables customers to cut time-to-market for mobile and embedded applications," said Jonathan Luse, Director of Marketing, Low Power Embedded Products Division, Intel®. "Embedded developers now have the choice to design with various Intel® Atom(TM)-based platforms from AAEON, which will expand their low-power design opportunities."

AAEON's boards with Intel® Atom(TM) processors deliver high performance with low power consumption (around 7W), in a rugged and compact design. This product series meets the demands of many market segments such as: Mobile devices, Enterprise thin clients, POS, KIOSK, medical instruments, gaming system, infotainment system, etc.
