A-Scan Laboratories - First Facility in the World to Receive Nadcap Accreditation for Eddy Current Inspection
Los Angeles, CA -- A-Scan Laboratories, Inc., a world-class provider of full spectrum, non-destructive testing (NDT) services, is the first facility in the world to receive Nadcap accreditation for eddy current inspection, a status recognized by the majority of global aerospace primes as a mark of quality assurance excellence.
A-Scan now becomes the first facility in the Western US to receive Nadcap accreditation in five nondestructive testing (NDT) methods including:
Eddy current
Magnetic particle
Liquid penetrant
Radiography
Ultrasonic inspection
Nadcap accreditation represents a concerted, cooperative effort throughout the global aerospace and defense sectors to improve quality, while reducing costs.
Most aerospace prime contractors and secondary tier suppliers now adhere to Nadcap as it defines a standardized approach to quality assurance and establishes:
High Quality requirements
Standardized approach to Quality Assurance
Improved performance throughout the supply chain
Baseline requirements for accreditation
Expert auditors to ensure familiarity with special processes and conducting technically superior in-depth quality audits.
“Achieving Nadcap accreditation is not easy; it is one of the ways in which the aerospace industry identifies those who excel in superior special processes,” said Michael Collingwood, President of A-Scan Labs.
A-Scan’s in-depth inspection expertise across all metallic and composite materials, and current manufacturing and fabrication methods, will ensure compliance with the highest aerospace and equivalent specifications.
“This is an important breakthrough for A-Scan Laboratories since it raises our profile and reputation within the aerospace industry and enables us to obtain greater recognition for our expertise in nondestructive inspection,” added Collingwood.
