Greater than 99.9 Percent Reduction in Bacteria without Chemicals

Breakthrough Patent-Pending Process Simplifies Training and Improves Productivity by 40 Percent or More over Current Kaivac Processes

Hamilton, Ohio - October 5, 2009 - Kaivac, Inc., announces today that both its KaiVac® No-Touch Cleaning® and its KaiFly(TM) flat-surface cleaning systems have been confirmed as sanitizing devices by an independent U.S. Environmental Protection Agency-certified lab using plain water without the use of chemical cleaning agents.

Lab test results show that these systems achieve a greater than 99.9 percent reduction of E. coli, C. difficile, MRSA, pseudomonas, and salmonella bacteria when used as directed (EPA Est. # 71665-OH-2).

"These announcements confirm the extraordinary deep-cleaning capability of our technologies and processes even without the use of chemicals," says Bob Robinson Sr., Founder and President of Kaivac, Inc. "And, with the simple addition of a [sanitizing label directions for use] label along with straightforward training and instructions, the existing 30,000-plus systems already in the field can now qualify as well."

Rapid Restroom Sanitizing(TM) Program
Normally, using the No-Touch Cleaning process, the first step is the application of chemicals to all surface areas to be cleaned. However, eliminating this step and using plain water has enabled the company to develop a new "high-speed" No-Touch Cleaning process that also greatly simplifies machine operation and training.

In fact, new time studies report that the already-fast No-Touch Cleaning times can now be further reduced by an additional 40 to 50 percent while delivering outstanding cleaning results. As a result, Kaivac is announcing that a new patent-pending Rapid Restroom Sanitizing program with associated training materials will be ready for rollout in Q4 2009.

"We've been testing Kaivac's new cleaning process in the field with successful results," says Paul South, President of Valley Janitor Supply, Hamilton, Ohio. "According to our ATP measurements, Kaivac's Rapid Restroom Sanitizing program outperformed microfiber mopping with a brand-name chemical by a factor of 20 or more. Not only does the Kaivac system offer a better way to clean, but it is also safer and faster. Plus, the improved productivity and chemical savings create a compelling ROI."

More information about these test results and the Rapid Restroom Sanitizing Program will be available at the Kaivac booth, number 1513, at the upcoming ISSA tradeshow, October 6-9, 2009, in Chicago.

About No-Touch Cleaning
Designed to remove the maximum amount of soil, bacteria, and other biopollution, Kaivac's patented No-Touch Cleaning systems combine an indoor pressure washer, a powerful wet vacuum, and chemistry into an integrated system. Empowering workers to hygienically clean without touching contaminated surfaces, these systems not only clean better but also cut labor, chemical, and equipment costs while improving worker morale and image. In fact, studies show that Kaivac's No-Touch Cleaning systems are 60 times more effective in reducing bacterial contamination on tile and grout surfaces than mops, which are more likely to spread contaminants than remove them.

About KaiFly Flat-Surface Cleaning System
The patent-pending KaiFly system combines microfiber and squeegee technologies to rapidly remove harmful disease-causing biopollutants from desktops, chalk and dry-erase boards, tabletops, stalls, partitions, windows, and other above-the-floor flat surfaces. KaiFly is scientifically proven through Petri-film testing to remove 80 times more bacteria than towels or rags, making it an ideal process for reducing the risk of H1N1, MRSA, norovirus, and other contaminants living on flat surfaces.

Ergonomically designed, KaiFly also cleans in half the time or less than traditional methods, while relieving strain on workers' backs and shoulders.

About Kaivac, Inc.
