COVINGTON, KY. - (July 2, 2009) - Syrgis Performance Products, an international diversified group of fine and specialty chemical manufacturers, today announced the promotion of Jeffrey A. Gates, Ph.D., to Director of Marketing, a newly created position within the company.
In his new role as Director of Marketing at Syrgis, Gates will drive the corporation's new innovation process.
"Jeff's vast experience in marketing and business development, combined with strengths in research and technology innovation have added depth and breadth of perspective to the Syrgis' management team," said Andy Harris, Syrgis CEO. "The Director of Marketing role better reflects his impact on the overall business. Gates, who joined Syrgis in February of 2008 as the company's Marketing Manager, brings more than 20 years of sales and technical marketing management experience with world-leading chemical companies including DuPont, Henkel and Cognis. He earned a bachelor's degree in mathematics and chemistry from Western Maryland College (McDaniel College) and received his doctorate in physical chemistry from the University of Delaware. Gates holds six U.S. Patents and has published 16 refereed papers.
