BASF Corp. Release date: July 1, 2009
WYANDOTTE, MI, July 1, 2009 -- BASF today announced that it has appointed Gerry Podesta as Group Vice President, Polyurethanes, in North America. He is based in Wyandotte, Michigan. Most recently, Mr. Podesta served as Group Vice President, Coatings and Plastic Chemicals, in North America. He replaces Bill Bernstein who retires from BASF on July 17.
Mr. Podesta joined BASF in 2003, after 20 years with General Electric, where he was Vice President and General Manager, GE Plastics Americas. He also held positions at General Electric in technical development, marketing and general management, serving the Consumer and Electronics, and Automotive markets.
Mr. Podesta earned a bachelor's degree in plastics engineering from the University of Massachusetts.
