Made from engineered resins with fiberglass reinforcement, M-211 composite absorbs and dissipates the extreme heat generated by the M-16 rifle's high-volume fire capability. M-211 is also lightweight and impervious to a variety of environmental conditions such as heat, cold, moisture, UV, and corrosive chemicals, making it suitable for all military missions.
In addition to the M-16 rifle hand guard, SMC from IDI can be used for other military uses, such as automotive body panels, high-strength electrical parts, HVAC components, small watercraft, power generation systems, corrosive material storage, and various structural components due to its excellent mechanical and dielectric properties, as well as surface appearance.
