Nicholson Construction Company Release date: May 11, 2009
PITTSBURGH, PA - May 11, 2009 - The Deep Foundations Institute recently named Nicholson Executive Vice President Laurent Lefebvre chairman of its Slurry Wall Committee. The committee, made up of geotechnical industry professionals from across the country, conducts seminars and publishes technical documents on slurry wall design and construction.
Mr. Lefebvre has been with Nicholson since 2005, when Nicholson became the North American business unit of Soletanche Bachy, a global leader in geotechnical and civil construction. Prior to joining Nicholson, he had been with Soletanche Bachy since 1985, managing operations in the U.S., Argentina, Monaco, France, and Mexico during that time. In his current position, Mr. Lefebvre oversees operations for Nicholson's Florida/Puerto district and Special Projects group.
On May 8th, the DFI Slurry Wall Committee held a series of slurry wall technical lectures at the University of Chicago. Mr. Lefebvre gave a presentation titled: Special Applications of Diaphragm Walls in Construction of Precast Walls in Colombia, Large Shafts in Netherlands and Modified Top-down Basement in Eastern Europe.
