SCHUNK USA, the Official Workholding Solutions Partner for Joe Gibbs Racing, held two very successful S.T.U. training classes in March. Customers travelled from as far away as Seattle, WA to the JGR facility in Huntersville, NC to attend. The JGR facility has over 250,000 sq. ft and has more than 450 employees.
On display at JGR are several of the products that SCHUNK supplies to help during the manufacturing process. Mark Bringle of Joe Gibbs Racing states, "Many people do not realize that process improvement, although having an initial cost, can often pay back in less than a year. This results in increased profitability and increased through put."
SCHUNK's training demonstrates to both distributors and end users how to save money, cut costs, increase flexibility and increase through put through process improvement. Items covered include:
o How to increase tool life through various methods of vibrations dampening
o How to increase table capacity and therefore increase spindle up time
o How to quickly and accurately change set up within 0.0002" repeatability
