Mokon

Release date: April 6, 2009

BUFFALO, N.Y., April 6, 2009 - As a global provider and part of Mokon's green-friendly initiative, we are now offering R-407C refrigerant in our line of Iceman portable and central chiller systems for North America and global business opportunities. R-407C is an environmentally-friendly refrigerant that contains no ozone-depleting properties.

Mokon's selection of R-407C is based on a refrigerant that has similar properties, characteristics and pressure ratings to that of R-22 and also has one of the lowest Global Warming Potential (GWP) values, which may be governed by the Environmental Protection Agency in the near future. R-407C has been the accepted refrigerant in Europe for many years, due to its reliable performance, compatibility and non-chlorine containing properties.

With the mandated phase-out of R-22 by the United States government in January 2010, the operation of existing chillers with R-22 will become more costly due to limited production supplies after 2010 and will only be available for use in servicing pre-existing systems. The use of R-407C will not require major component changes or system overhauls when retrofitting our existing line of Iceman portable and central chillers. A change of compressor oil, evacuation and a re-charge with R-407C will be all that's necessary for start up, making R-407C the accepted R-22 replacement refrigerant.

Mokon offers a complete line of Iceman portable chiller systems for process cooling requirements down to 5°F (-15°C). Mokon's line of portable chillers is available from ¼-ton to 35-ton cooling capacities in air-cooled or water-cooled condensing. In addition, combination heating and cooling systems, dual circuit capacity control systems from 10 tons to 40 tons, and outdoor air-cooled scroll systems are also available. Mokon's Iceman central chillers supply process fluid control down to 20°F (-6°C) in 30 to 120-ton cooling capacities. The central chillers are available in single or dual circuit configurations, air-cooled or water-cooled condensing, and scroll or semi-hermetic discus compressors.

For over 50 years, Mokon has set the standard for high quality circulating liquid temperature control systems. Through the development of new products, refinement of existing designs, and our ability to create custom engineered solutions, Mokon has consistently demonstrated its ability to foresee the evolving needs of customers in plastics processing, packaging, converting, composites, medical/pharmaceutical processing, chemical processing, rubber, printing, general processing, and many more industries. The company's product line has grown significantly since it first introduced a water temperature control system in 1955 to include heat transfer oil systems, portable and central chillers, pump tanks, cooling towers, blown film coolers, cold climate coolers, engineered and pre-engineered control panels, maintenance products, and custom designed/engineered systems.
