Corning Cable Systems

Release date: August 15, 2008

AUGUST 15, 2008

Loyalty incentive program provides installers with network of connections to learn about industry trends and opportunities

HICKORY, N.C. Corning Cable Systems LLC, part of Corning Incorporated's (NYSE:GLW) Telecommunications segment, introduces the LANscapeŽ Network of Preferred Installers (NPI). Membership in the program provides installers with real solutions to real problems through training from industry experts, a tiered rewards system for mutual success and joint marketing opportunities, all in addition to a competitive installation warranty.

As today's optical networks increasingly require end-to-end solutions rather than individual components, the need for a trained installer who can complete a fully-operational installation is critical. By becoming a preferred installer through NPI, members will be able to install a complete passive optical solution by utilizing their valued relationship with Corning Cable Systems. Through two-way communication opportunities such as surveying and regional NPI committee meetings, members of the NPI will have a direct impact on the information, training and network benefits they find valuable.

The tiered rewards system allows installers to participate at their desired level and allows Corning Cable Systems to support a full range of approved contractors:

o Preferred Master Installers have demonstrated an exceptional level of loyalty to install Corning Cable Systems products and train their personnel in return for the greatest level of benefits. Only master installers are entitled to receive a quarterly training, product or service offering.

o Preferred Expert Installers obtain world-class service and discounts on products, training and support in return for their commitment to promote and install Corning Cable Systems solutions.

o Preferred Authorized Installers receive the fundamental benefits while still being eligible for network advancement.

Members of the selective Network of Preferred Installers are, subject to the applicable contract terms, able to install products eligible for Corning Cable Systems' warranty of up to 25 years for LANscapeŽ Fiber Optic Cabling Solutions and up to 10 years for Intelligent Traffic Systems (ITS) networks through the Corning Cable Systems LANscape Solutions Extended Warranty ProgramSM (EWP).

The warranty covers product components of the Corning Cable Systems solution including fiber optic cables, hardware and connectivity, including preterminated systems.
