Lovejoy, Inc.

Release date: August 11, 2008

Lovejoy, Inc. rolls out first completely new catalog in 20 years.

Downers Grove, IL-August 11, 2008-If catalogs, like phone directories, allow people to bypass the legwork and "let their fingers do the walking" then fingers will get a lighter workout with Lovejoy's new Full Line catalog, which is designed to be even more user friendly than the old standby customers have come to know and rely on. The new catalog, released this summer, is the result of nearly 18 months of collaboration, negotiation, and flat out brainstorming.

"Year after year when our Full Line catalog would run low, we'd just reprint the old one," says Krister Meister, Marketing Manager. "Some sections were 20 years old and there was a lack of consistency with formats, drawings and parts labeling from section to section. It wasn't so much that our customers asked for a new catalog - I think they were used to it. But we knew we needed a change."

The following are some of the changes that were made to make the catalog easier on the eyes and the brain cells:

o Updated photos o Consistent page layout o Clearly labeled Lovejoy parts o Consistent two-dimensional drawings designed to be read from the top down then right to left o Dimension callouts that run along the top row of tables o Page and section numbers at the bottom of each page o Easy-to-read text o Informative tables and charts with consistent format o Intuitive design features, including everything necessary to order for each part on one page for the majority of products

Lovejoy Product Managers went through their catalog product lines to edit out everything that was obsolete and add in new items. What hasn't changed? The cover. It's essentially the same with the trademark Lovejoy orange but features the manufacturer's new logo and 2008 for easy reference.

"It was an enormous undertaking and I was responsible for making sure everyone adhered to the correct format. In essence, I was the catalog police," Meister says smiling. "I believe the final product is something we can all be very proud of. We worked hard to ensure that this would be the most user-friendly catalog possible and I believe we succeeded."

The catalog can be ordered via the Web site, email, or phone.
