Wisconsin Lift Truck Corp. Release date: April 21, 2008
April 21, 2008
BROOKFIELD, WIS. - Wisconsin Lift Truck announced that it has been named an authorized distributor for Seegrid Corporation (www.seegrid.com), the premier provider of vision-guided mobile robots for the material handling industry. Seegrid Corporation's product line includes the GT3, the first vision-guided industrial mobile robot designed specifically for material handling in manufacturing, warehousing and distribution, and the GP8, a motorized pallet truck which automates the long-haul transport of pallets.
The GT3 is an autonomous tugger employing Seegrid's Industrial Mobile Robotics (IMR) technology, which enables it to move through operations utilizing stereo cameras to build a reliable 3D map of the environment. It then uses the map and its own reasoning ability to navigate a predetermined path to complete its assigned transport task. The GT3 transports materials and finished goods without wire guides, magnets or lasers. It is designed to free up skilled employees by taking care of such tasks as pulling carts, delivering palletized materials and positioning supplies in tight areas. The vehicle is highly flexible and can be implemented quickly and easily with no workflow disruption. The GP8 allows an operator to simply positions the GP8's forks under the pallets. The GP8 does the rest. It transports the pallets to the assigned location, then automatically drops the pallets and returns to the original starting point (or other pre-assigned location) for more work. It is available in both single and double fork configurations. Both units allow workers to focus on higher-valued tasks, increase productivity by constantly enforcing the work pace, foster safety discipline and reduce labor, accidents and injury costs. They offer the lowest total cost of ownership and the highest return on investment (ROI) in the material handling industry.
Wisconsin Lift Truck Corp., one of Wisconsin's largest privately held firms, is a 46-year-old full service material handling company with over 400 employees at its headquarters in Brookfield, its branches in Germantown, Green Bay, Janesville, and Wausau and at its business partners. Those partners include Wolter Power Systems, which specializes in new industrial engine and generator sales, service, and parts; and Contractor Equipment Services, which offers new and used sales, rentals service, and parts of construction and aerial equipment, sweepers and scrubbers.
