Calex Mfg. Co., Inc.

Release date: March 5, 2008

Calex Mfg. Co., Inc. of Concord, California announces a new Short Form Product Guide which provides a comprehensive overview of the Calex power solution product offering.

The Short Form Product Guide provides an easy reference selection guide for Calex DC/DC converter and AC/DC power supply products. Calex offers DC/DC converters from 0.25 to 150 Watts with single, dual, triple or quad outputs. Models are available to accommodate inputs from 3.5 to 300VDC with 2:1 and 4:1 input ranges. Outputs range from 0.75 to 48VDC. The DC/DC converters are available in surface mount, pcb mount, chassis mount and DIN rail mounting configurations. Calex also offers AC/DC linear power supplies with single, dual and triple outputs up to 10 Watts. The AC/DC products are encapsulated and available in pcb and chassis mount configurations.

New to the Calex power solution offering is CBAM(TM), Calex Brick Assembly Modules. The CBAM(TM) solution targets military and avionics applications that call for unique features, rugged design and high reliability. The CBAM(TM) concept allows the system designer to choose the features needed for the application at hand. More specifically, the CBAM(TM) solution allows the designer to mix and match modular products to create a unique power solution. CBAM(TM) addresses a variety of issues including brown-out protection, EMI reduction (MIL-STD-461E), surge and spike protection (MIL-STD-1275B) and provides clean uninterrupted power to down stream circuitry. Calex can incorporate CBAM(TM) functionality into a variety of form factors to meet application specific requirements - simply contact the factory for details. Also part of the CBAM(TM) offering is a load share module that simplifies the paralleling of DC/DC converters while maintaining complete converter functionality for redundancy or increased current capability. CBAM(TM) modules are available with RoHS and non-RoHS construction.

Additional new products include a 5 Watt surface mount DC/DC converter family with single and dual outputs. Input ranges are 9 to 18, 18 to 36 and 36 to 75VDC. Output voltages range from 3.3 to 15VDC. The 5 Watt SMT series is isolated input to output. Also new to the Calex DC/DC offering is a series of 10 Watt DC/DC modules housed in a 24 pin DIP metal case (1.25" x 0.8"). The EW Series offers input ranges of 9 to 18, 18 to 36 and 36 to 75VDC. Output voltages range from 2.5 to 15VDC. Like the SMT Series, the EW Series converters are isolated input to output. In addition to a number of new DC/DC converter series and CBAM(TM), Calex now also offers heatsinks for full, half and quarter brick packaged products. Every product detailed in the Short Form Product Guide is backed by Calex's Five Year Warranty. If the solution required is not found in Calex's extensive standard product offering, a Custom Worksheet is included in the Short Form Product Guide to facilitate the custom design effort. Calex specializes in modified standard product and complete custom designs.
