IFS

Release date: February 28, 2008

SCHAUMBURG, Ill. , February 28, 2008 - IFS, the global enterprise applications company, announced today that it has been recognized by leading global growth consulting company Frost & Sullivan for its increased presence in the aerospace and defense (A&D) industry. IFS now has 31 percent total global market share of the A&D enterprise asset management (EAM) systems market.

Frost & Sullivan awarded IFS the Global EAM Systems Market Penetration Leadership Award for A&D for the company's product innovations and unmatched customer focus, which have resulted in it making the largest gain in market share over two to three years. Due to this progress in A&D, Frost & Sullivan also features IFS in their Best Practice Hall of Fame. To identify the recipient of this award, Frost & Sullivan carried out a series of interviews with experts in the A&D sector and used extensive secondary research in order to measure the change in market share, increase in sales and brand awareness efforts from within the industry.

Frost and Sullivan indicated that IFS has a number of differentiators including its industry focus, innovation and collaborative solutions involving all stakeholders. IFS' customers specifically commented on the ease of use and faster payback associated with IFS solutions.

The award recognizes that IFS has secured its position as a market-leader in the maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) and asset lifecycle management space, by providing a range of services and solutions for all aspects of asset lifecycle management in the A&D sector. It also reflects the company's role as a market innovator and IFS' dedication to delivering solutions in response to its customer needs.

According to Frost and Sullivan research analyst R. Aravindhan, it is the "superior product contributions and unmatched customer focus which have established IFS as the market leader in this industrial vertical sector."

"It is very pleasing that the momentum in IFS Defense has been recognized in these influential global awards for best practice," IFS AB CEO and President Alastair Sorbie said.

"It is fantastic to get external recognition for what we see as the elements which make IFS Defense the real alternative - our customer focus, our deep industry knowledge and our desire to be a long-term capability partner," IFS Managing Director of Defense Iain Green said.

Aerospace and defense is one of IFS' targeted market segments. IFS Applications includes advanced functionality that meets the demanding requirements of the Armed Forces around the world and A&D manufacturers. IFS' strength in EAM & MRO is complemented by its fully integrated project tracking and product data management (PDM) capabilities, which IFS packages as best-practice solutions for Fleet Management, MRO and supply chain management in A&D, making it easier to deliver performance-based logistics and maintenance support of complex assets throughout the product lifecycle.

IFS customers within the aerospace and defense industry include the British, Norwegian, and US defense organizations as well as the Eurofighter consortium. Commercial MRO shops and operators include Finnair, Bristow Helicopters, Aero-Dienst GmbH, Hawker Pacific, and Jet Turbine Services. In addition, IFS provides solutions to original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) such as General Dynamics, Lockheed Martin, BAE SYSTEMS, Saab, and GE Transportation.
