Company Introduces New Line of Photo-Ready Storage Devices, Including the Fantom Drives G-Force Quad Interface GF1000Q - Quad Interface for Consumer and Professional Photographers

TORRANCE, CA - Fantom Drives, an innovator in storage solutions, today highlighted continuing trends in consumer and professional photography that show digital photography is driving increasing demand for high-capacity digital storage that protects images from loss. With the number of photographs going beyond 12 billion digital prints in 2007[i] and the increasing resolution of these photos resulting in greater storage requirements, photographers face a new challenge in the proper storage and protection of their valuable images. Responding to this challenge, Fantom is introducing affordable photo-ready storage systems that include terabyte-class storage and high-performance image replication software.

According to PMA Marketing Research, U.S. digital photo spending continues to grow and analysts predict this trend will continue. As flash memory used in digital cameras continues to drop in price and grow in capacity, this fosters the challenge of where to offload and store the photos once the camera's flash memory reaches capacity. The most common method of storing digital photos is directly onto a desktop or laptop computer, but also common is limited storage space and system failure that may result in the complete loss of the stored images. Fantom's line of photo-ready storage devices provides high capacity external storage devices that ensure image safety in the event of a computer crash.

Professional photographer, Jose Trejos, owner of Depiktions Photography, is entrusted to take and securely store images by clients that include hip hop artists like Daddy Yankee and Sean Kingston and urban clothing lines such as Westside Original and Safari Brand clothing. "My photos are my livelihood and having lost images in the past because of hardware/software issues, I now ensure my work is safe with Fantom Drives. A mirror image of my data resides on an external storage system in native file format, keeping client photos instantly available in the event of computer downtime. It is a mission-critical component of my gear."

"Consumers and professional photographers have different needs and when it comes to storing digital photos, we provide both with powerful solutions." said Joe Trupiano, director of marketing at Fantom Drives. "Our Photo-Ready series of external storage devices come in a range of capacities with a variety of performance and data protection options. For both professionals and amateurs, we deliver solutions that keep their photos safe and secure."

Fantom Drives G-Force GF1000Q - Quad Interface

This compact external storage device features four options for connecting to the PC or Mac - USB 2.0, Firewire 400, 800 & eSATA, making the G-Force Quad Interface drive the premier storage device for everyone ranging from consumers to professionals. With a maximum throughput of 300MB/s this device is geared for very fast transfer of photos and it features the ruggedness and durability that the company designs into every unit. The compact fan-free heat-dissipating aluminum design allows for portability and near silent operation. It also offers the option of resting either horizontally or vertically with an included stand. Included with the GF1000Q is the award-winning NTI Shadow software which offers real-time, continuous backup in addition to scheduled backup to virtually any storage device. It offers very simple, yet secure protection of digital images from loss.

Pricing and Availability

The GF1000Q, offering 1 TB of storage is priced at $399.95 and the 750 GB GF750Q is priced starting at $279.95. Learn more by going online to http://www.micronet.com/General/prodList.asp?CatID=139&Cat=Product www.micronet.com/General/prodList.asp?CatID=139&Cat=Product>
