Linear Demonstrates New Generation of Plus Series of Telephone Entry Systems and Access Controller with New Web Programming Support at FENCETECH'08
LAS VEGAS (February 4, 2008) - At FENCETECH'08 this week, Linear LLC, an innovator in telephone entry, access control, gate operator and radio control products, will demonstrate its new generation of Telephone Entry Systems and Access Controllers. The AE2000Plus, AE1000Plus, and AM3Plus now come with the AccessBase 2000 as well as a new feature, AXNET Web programmability, which significantly increases programming flexibility of Linear's panels for dealers, installers and users.
AXNET provides an alternate method of entering information to set up and install Linear's Telephone Entry Systems AE1000Plus and AE2000Plus, as well as Access Controller AM3Plus panels. AXNET is a new Web-browser based method of programming from any PC. With this alternative means of programming, installers now have the flexibility of either using Linear's popular AccessBase 2000 software or AXNET; both come installed in the panels. Installations can now be easily configured and set up using either one of these two convenient programming methods.
AXNET mode is a new feature with all of Linear's Plus panels. The database is stored in each panel, making it convenient for the users to manage panels from any PC. With a simple dial-up modem and a Web browser, the user can easily program or modify all installation parameters. In addition, a wide variety of modem, RS-232 and RS485 connection configurations are available in AXNET mode, providing installation connection and communication flexibility. The AXNET browser screen is user-friendly and simple to navigate making programming steps quick and easy to complete. When AXNET is used, each panel stores both its own database plus the global installation database, making it virtually impossible to lose an installation database.
Installers familiar with Linear's popular AccessBase 2000, which is designed for programming from a dedicated host computer, can continue using it for new jobs or expanding existing installations. AXNET is suitable for small installation where up to four panels will do the job. For larger more complex jobs AccessBase 2000 will continue to support eight panels and eight networks; up to 256 doors.
In addition to the AXNET and AccessBase 2000, Linear's Plus based Telephone Entry Systems will soon be available with capability for local programming of key parameters using the systems' keypads. This additional flexibility in the Plus panels is intended to support new construction where PC-based programming or communication to the panels is non-existent or inconvenient. This additional programming capability ensures operation of Plus panel's key parameters for installers and provides convenience to users prior to completion of new building construction projects.
Additional programming flexibility is achieved without compromising other generous capabilities offered by Linear's Telephone Entry System and Access Controller. Key features include the ability to control four openings, a built-in radio receiver, and a 33.6 kpbs modem. Other features include a larger user base, event log buffer capacity, block-coded MegaCode transmitters; keypad, card reader and remote radio receiver support are standard.
