Dr. Gerhard Bommas Retires after 33 Years with the Company
Johann Pohany Joins ND SatCom as CTO
Friedrichshafen, January 30, 2008 - ND SatCom, an SES ASTRA company, recently appointed Johann Pohany to the position of CTO. Mr. Pohany replaces Dr. Gerhard Bommas, who has retired after 33 years with the company. Mr. Pohany will oversee ND SatCom's product lifecycle from product management, R&D, verification, supply chain management, production, training and support. His responsibilities also include group wide quality assurance and IT systems. He looks forward to his new task: "ND SatCom's unique VSAT experience combined with the strength of our mother company SES ASTRA will foster further significant growth of our company. Besides managing growth, one of the key challenges of ND SatCom is to keep and increase the speed of innovation while broadening the solution offerings for our clients and entering into new arenas."

Mr. Pohany is member of the advisory board of the Austrian Space Agency within the Research & Promotion Agency and lectures Energy Information and Communication Systems at the University of Brandenburg (Cottbus), Germany. He holds a diploma in Computer Science and Information Technology from the University of Stuttgart.
