Press Release

IKey Ltd.

Release date: January 22, 2008

Thinner iKey Keyboard Compatible with More Vehicle Mounting Systems

1/22/2008

Austin, Tx. - One of iKey's keyboards is looking noticeably slimmer, and for good reason. The SL-86-911-TP model is now available in a thinner case for compatibility with most vehicle mounting systems used in the public safety industry.

"The casing for our original SL-86-911-TP is too large for some existing vehicle-mount systems that currently use TG3-brand keyboards," said Joel East, Director of Business Development and Technical Design for iKey. "The thinner version can serve as a direct replacement for those keyboards as they lose keys or wear out."

The thinner model of the keyboard is called the SL-86-911-TP-FL and measures 12.0" W x 7.75" H x 1.125" D. The original model measures 11.4" W x 7.3" H x 1.86" D.

"The original model is still available," East said. "The thinner version is for customers who have an existing vehicle-mount system that would be too expensive to replace at the same time they are trying to replace their keyboards."

Both of the SL-86-911-TP keyboards feature a programmable emergency key, backlighting for low-light environments, and an integrated touchpad. They are NEMA 4X and IP65 rated, which means they are resistant to dirt, dust and spills. They are designed to serve in various public safety applications, including as on-board police, ambulance, and military keyboards.

iKey will soon be releasing a thinner version of another keyboard, the FT-86-911-TP, for the same reasons. The newer, thinner model will be called the FT-88-911-TP and will feature full-travel keys with backlighting, an integrated touchpad and a programmable emergency key.

About iKey, Inc.: iKey designs, manufactures and sells sealed, rugged keyboards for industrial, kiosk, public safety, medical and military environments. All iKey products are designed to function in harsh conditions. A pioneer in its industry since 1989, iKey is known as an innovator of industrial computer peripherals.
