Press Release

Delphax Technologies Inc.

Release date: January 9, 2008

Delphax Technologies' Imaggia Digital Print System Reaches Production Milestone of 10 Billion Feet of Output

Awards of appreciation presented to major U.S. and Canadian partners

MINNEAPOLIS, Jan. 9, 2008 - Delphax Technologies Inc. (Nasdaq:DLPX), a global provider of high-speed digital printing systems, observed a major production milestone for its Imaggia digital print system with year-end awards recognizing the role of the two companies primarily responsible. Delphax announced that the Imaggia, its premier sheet-fed digital press, has reached 10 billion feet of production since its introduction-nearly 1.9 million miles of high-quality printed material meeting the highest worldwide standards for non-impact MICR (magnetic ink character recognition) encoding for secure documents.

"We're proud of the production capability and reliability this milestone represents, and we salute our Imaggia customers for this achievement," said Dieter Schilling, president and chief executive officer. "We were honored to present commemorative awards expressing appreciation for our successful partnership with the two most extensive users of Imaggia presses-Harland Clarke of San Antonio, Texas, and Davis + Henderson of Toronto, Ontario."

Harland Clarke Corp. is Delphax's largest Imaggia customer in a relationship beginning in 2000. Davis + Henderson, the leading supplier of personalized checks in Canada, has been a major Imaggia customer since 1998.

In San Antonio, Texas, the Harland Clarke recipients were Chuck Dawson, president and chief executive officer; Alan Westfall, executive vice president and chief operating officer; Bruce Tillotson, senior vice president of engineering; Joe Mengele, vice president check manufacturing; Carly Schmidt, communications manager and several other team members. The Davis + Henderson award was presented to Yves Denomme, vice president operations; Barbara McBurney, director of operations; Jack Carson, plant manager and several team members at the company's Markham, Ontario, facility.

"To give a sense of the scale of Imaggia output, we've used some illustrations that border on the astronomical," Schilling said. "Ten billion feet of production translates into approximately 120 billion checks, or 11.4 million miles of checks placed end to end. The space shuttle traveling at 17,000 miles an hour would need 28 days to travel that far-a distance equal to 24 roundtrips to the moon. Stacked one on top of the other, 120 billion checks would reach a height of 40 million feet, or 7,576 miles-equal to 32,000 Empire State Buildings."

The Imaggia is the world's fastest digital MICR-capable cut-sheet printer system with models featuring document throughput of 300 8.5x11-inch pages per minute. Cut-sheet printers are ideal for applications that require multiple base stock sources or variable overprint on pre-printed stock. They are also the logical choice where the print volumes are not large enough to justify the continuous roll-fed process. All of Delphax's cut-sheet solutions offer dynamic input collation to handle paper substrates of varying sizes, weights, and finishes.
