CoorsTek

Release date: December 14, 2007

New family of ceramic materials combines high purity, durability and USP Class VI compatibility for wide range of medical and surgical applications.

December 14, 2007- Golden, CO - CoorsTek, one of the world's largest technical ceramics manufacturers, today officially announced introduction of its new CeraPure(TM) line of ceramic materials developed specifically for medical and surgical applications. Including alumina, zirconia and zirconia toughened alumina, all CeraPure materials are USP Class VI compatible.

These ceramic materials also offer superior dielectric strength, thermal stability, strength, hardness and insulating capabilities over traditional non-ceramic medical component materials. Applications include electro-surgical, laser systems and fluid handling.

"An aging population desiring a more active lifestyle has driven medical manufacturers to innovate and improve performance," states CoorsTek Executive Vice President Mark Chenoweth. "Our CeraPure ceramics are designed to accommodate many of the market's next-generation requirements," he continued.
