Knight Electronics

Release date: November 16, 2007

Knight Electronics' "Making It Better for Less" Program Keeps Customers Competitive.

Lowering purchasing and inventory costs for small and medium-sized OEMs...

DALLAS, Tex. (November 16, 2007) - Knight Electronics Inc., a global manufacturer with expertise in solving issues of quality, availability, performance and cost competitiveness, has launched its "Making It Better for Less" program, which provides customers with an assessment of their production facilities and operations as well as recommendations that can significantly reduce purchasing and inventory costs, all free of charge.

"Today's OEM, no matter the size of its operation, must be able to play in the global market in order to be successful," said Bob Knight, president of Knight Electronics. "At Knight, we are uniquely positioned to assess and provide the program support OEMs need. We have nearly 30 years of experience in Asian manufacturing, procurement and distribution of electrical, electronic, and electro-mechanical parts and assemblies, so we can help make OEMs more competitive in today's marketplace."

Small and mid-sized OEMS are often faced with operational issues such as offshore competition, high labor rates, competition with Asian operations and a management team that thinks they are too small to take advantage of low-cost offshore sourcing.

Knight Electronics, with its manufacturing facilities and engineering locations in the U.S., Taiwan, and mainland China, partners with these OEMS so they may benefit from worldwide locations and established manufacturing facilities.

The "Making It Better for Less" program removes the burdens of capital outlay for shipments, provides engineers for the Asian site inspection, reduces travel time and expenses, eliminates language barriers, minimizes or eliminates risk associated with quality issues and shipping logistics, payments and returns from the OEM, frees up man-hours to focus on product development and customer service. With Knight's proven performance record, OEMs benefit from worldwide delivery on a JIT basis, regardless of project scope, which can significantly lower purchasing and inventory costs. "The Making It Better for Less program results in lower costs, higher efficiency and higher profits for OEMs," said Knight.

Following the free assessment, Knight can assist OEMs in providing JIT delivery on scheduled orders, providing on-site inspection with their own engineers, assuring quality standards are met, reducing manufactured product cost with aggressive pricing and assuming currency risks.
