August 17, 2009 - Peachtree City, GA - Harris Shredders, division of Harris, announces the sale of their Drive Package for the HS12125 Shredder to Midwest Scrap Management, Inc., from Kansas City, MO. Midwest Scrap is owned and operated by Kendrick Burgess, President and Kenneth Burgess, Vice President.
Harris provides a complete Motor Drive Package designed to maximize shredder performance and optimize energy efficiency, resulting in direct savings applied to the bottom line of the shredder facility. This particular Harris Motor Drive Package includes a 7,000 HP Schorch AC Wound Rotor Motor, Extreme Duty Shaft Arrangement, Liquid Rheostat, High Voltage Switch Gear controls and protection system, and a Two Stage Power Factor Correction System.
According to Jim Summers, Operations Manager of Midwest Scrap, this Motor Drive System will be used in their future second Harris HS 125125 Shredder Plant installation.
The HS 125125 is only one of the Harris Shredder line of products. Designed to minimize maintenance and increase available production time, the shredder features a low profile design, interlocking housing fabrication for strength, oversized reject door opening outwards to expel unshreddables, massive front and back wall castings designed for impact and long life, with tie rods for additional midsection strength, heavy duty Dual Feed Roll feed system with torque tube and quick release rollers.
