Severn Trent Services Release date: May 5, 2009
Five-year partnership to reduce costs up to 10 percent for municipality
FORT WASHINGTON, Pa. - May 5, 2009 - Severn Trent Services announces it has entered into a public-private partnership with the City of Cameron, Texas, to provide contract management, operation and maintenance of the City's 1.4 MGD wastewater and 1.4 MGD water treatment plants which serve a population of 5,600. Severn Trent also will be responsible for maintaining the City's collection and distribution systems, as well as meter reading. The five-year partnership is valued at $4.7 million.
From the outset of the partnership, Severn Trent will work with the City to generate long-term savings by improving efficiencies, effectively managing municipal assets and reducing risks to the City. The partnership is estimated to reduce overall costs by approximately 5 to 10 percent.
"Our partnership with Cameron continues our commitment to municipalities in Texas where we operate nearly 200 facilities and serve approximately one million individuals," noted Dana Kaas, vice president, Operating Services.
