Manncorp

Release date: December 1, 2008

Geared for production and training applications, the "Starter Lab" turnkey line from Manncorp is widely used by contractors and OEMs who require low-cost precision prototyping or low-volume SMT assembly. It reportedly has also gained acceptance by numerous technical schools and colleges as a teaching aid.

Internet-priced at $27,995, the line includes three space-saving bench-top systems: a precision stencil printer, a computer-controlled pick and place unit and a lead-free reflow oven.

"PCB assemblers on tight budgets no longer have to scavenge for used, almost outmoded equipment," claims CEO Henry Mann, "when for the same or less money, they can now have a single-sourced SMT line with fully integrated lead-free and fine-pitch equipment. The placer is the latest upgrade to our versatile ECM-5611S with on-the-fly vision placement and available bottom vision for larger components, such as BGAs and CSPs. It will place a wide range of fine-pitch devices on a 10.6" x 5.9" placement area and holds 24 8mm tape feeders. A computer with LCD monitor is included."

The SR2100 stencil printer offers precision screw alignment to boards, X, Y and Theta adjusting knobs and double-sided board processing. Frame capacity is 18" x 22" (47-mm x 570mm). The single-chamber 850 hot air convection reflow oven adjusts to lead-free temperatures to 260°C. Included are LCD preheat and reflow-phase time and temperature settings.
