Grand Forks, ND, November 22, 2008 - PS DOORS has received FM Approvals Certification on its flood protection barrier products. In accordance with FM Approvals' Standard 2510, FM Approvals tested PS DOORS' flood protection products to the rigorous standard, which included performance testing, deployment testing, hydrostatic loading, dynamic impact loading, materials testing, and a company facility and procedures audit.
The first two certified products are the Pedestrian Flood Door (Model PD-520) and Flood Plank Barriers (Model FP-530A). PS DOORS offers additional models of flood protection barriers to meet the needs of various flood protection plans and applications. Receiving the "FM APPROVED" mark allows PS DOORS' products to be listed in the FM Approval Guide, enabling companies world wide insured by FM Global to utilize these products to reduce loss risk.
On November 17th, Angèle Morcos, project engineer with FM Approvals - Hydraulics Group, presented PS DOORS with the official certification at the Army Corps of Engineers and Association of State Flood Plain Managers co-sponsored 4th National Flood Proofing Conference in New Orleans, Louisiana. "We are excited to be the first company to test and be approved by FM Approvals for flood protection barriers.", said Terry Smith, Flood Protection Coordinator for PS DOORS.
