Texas site honored for sustained dedication to safety
PITTSBURGH - November 24, 2008 - LANXESS Corporation's site in Baytown, Texas, was recently accepted by the Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) for Star participation into its Voluntary Protection Programs (VPP). The inclusion into VPP puts Lanxess in elite company for having facilities that offer exemplary safety and health protection.
"LANXESS has made a concerted effort to go above and beyond what is required by OSHA standards," explained Randy Dearth, President and CEO, LANXESS. "The Baytown site has shown exemplarily dedication to these efforts with an excellent safety and health management system in place."
Approval into the VPP is OSHA's official recognition of the outstanding efforts of employers and employees who have achieved exemplary occupational safety and health. In the VPP, management, labor and OSHA establish cooperative relationships at workplaces that have implemented a comprehensive safety and health management system.
The Baytown site received a plaque and flag to display, honoring the achievement.
