Raymarine Inc.

Release date: October 30, 2008

Raymarine's Advanced Engineering and Exclusive Technologies are Now Available in Smaller Navigation Displays

MERRIMACK, N.H. and FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla., Oct. 30 / / - Ft. Lauderdale International Boat Show - Raymarine, Inc., a world leader in marine electronics, today introduced its updated line of A-Series navigation displays. With the new A-Series, recreational boaters can navigate like a pro using high-resolution 2D, 3D and aerial photo charts, and hone in on fish with unmatched clarity through Raymarine's HD Digital sonar technology. Available in three sizes, the new A-Series chartplotters and chartplotter/fishfinder combo units feature pre-loaded charts for coastal or inland waters, along with a compact flash reader for optional chart cards, a high-sensitivity GPS sensor, IPX6 waterproof construction, and a tilt swivel bracket with quick release and cable management functionality.

"As we continue to introduce new technologies to the market, we are focused on integrating them into solutions for boats of all sizes," said Dave Bimschleger, President of Raymarine, Inc. "With its sunlight-viewable displays and rugged submersible design, the new A-Series is a perfect fit for owners of center consoles and open cockpits who want to use the latest and greatest in marine electronics."

Each of the new A-Series displays - the 5" A50 the 5.7" A57 and 6.4" A70 - all feature advanced technology recently introduced with Raymarine's groundbreaking G-Series and E-Series navigation systems, including:

Powerful Chartplotting

A-Series chartplotters are available pre-loaded with Navionics charts of the coastal U.S. or inland lakes and rivers, and even greater chart detail and features can be added with optional Navionics chart cards.

Unmatched HD Digital(TM) Fishfinder Technology

A-Series chartplotter/fishfinders offer superior fish detection and bottom discrimination using Raymarine's outstanding HD Digital sonar technology. The HD Digital fishfinder built into the A50D, A57D and A70D instantly adapts to changing seabed and water conditions providing fully automatic "hands off" operation. The digital fishfinders include dual frequency 200/50 kHz, optional wide beam transducer and auto-adaptive control of sensitivity, ping rate and transmit power.

Ultra Wide Fan Beam Transducer

Engineered for shallow water coastal, lake and river fishing, the unique Fan Beam transducer delivers an extra wide view of the bottom. In addition to a very wide beam, the Fan Beam can be rotated fore and aft or port and starboard with an easy-to-use rotary beam control built right into the top of the transducer housing. The Fan Beam transducer is designed for transom or trolling motor mounting and features a built-in temperature sensor. The Fan Beam transducer is supplied standard with the A50D and A57D Inland models and is available as an option for all other models.

SIRIUS Satellite Weather & Audio

With the addition of the optional SR50 weather and audio receiver, the A-Series now allows boaters to access graphical marine weather forecasts and tune into SIRIUS Satellite radio entertainment, including commercial-free music, sports, news and talk programming.

Integrated Engine Monitoring

Users can connect the new A-Series with NMEA2000 compatible engine instruments and trim tabs using the Raymarine SeaTalkng next generation data bus.

AIS Target Tracking

The A-Series is transformed into an AIS (Automatic Identification System) when integrated with Raymarine's AIS250 receiver, a "listen only" receiver that uses an existing VHF antenna to graphically overlay AIS targets on the chartplotter.

The A-Series line includes various combinations of display sizes and charts to provide boaters with the optimal solution:

- A-Series Coastal Chartplotters (A50, A57, A70)
- A-Series Coastal Chartplotter/Fishfinder Combos (A50D, A57D, A70D)
- A-Series Inland Chartplotter/Fishfinder Combos (A50D, A57D)
